Hello world!
18th March, 2008Well, I was the sole expedition member that did not write a blog yesterday……..the good news being I can tell you about today. We are in the middle of a storm, 45 knot winds, & “white out” conditions, 24 members of the expedition made it to shore this morning and are held up with Robert in the Ebase. The rest of us are surfing the waves in the ice breaker. Personally, I would rather be battling the elements on shore. The few that made it over were members of the 2041 team (including “Jumper”, our rescue and recovery guy), and a handful of members of the media………The universe is giving them a superb show show of power. Three team members that had made the rough crossing in the dingy, were sent back in order to help weight down the dingy´s on their return trip to the ship, they are still Antarctic virgin´s and very frustrated ship mates having gotten so close to her majesty. Those of us at sea are hoping the storm will pass as quickly and unexpectedly as she arrived, while “hoping” I have also been in and out of the brig studying the weather satellite photo´s………. Today is by far not over. In the mean time we are studying global warming stats, the energy that this situation is creating is adding to the sense of urgency that time is running out much faster then we are lead to believe when it comes to saving the planet. Sending my Love to Ashton & Julian. Xoxo Susan LeCraw

Hi Sue,
Glad to get some news from you. Sounds exciting … and just a bit dicey! Good luck with the weather management. Hope you make shore soon and can start the next phase of your adventure.
Cheers Mark
