Jean-Carlo Alves da Silva joins IAE 2008

Jean-Carlo’s initial thoughts on climate change…

I live on an island where there is an oil refinery situated at the center of the island. Knowing that the gases produced by it on daily basis only contribute to global warming which has the effect of raising the sea level and our own island will be submerged. This is something really disturbing to live with.

  1. Dear Jean-Carlo, My wish to you and the A-3 team is simple: Breathe in and breathe out, and with each and every breath you take, ensure that all others around you, whether it be human, plant or animal, have the same opportunity to do so, peacefully, within their lifetime. I hope we can ensure this for all generations to come. It is a big task to accomplish, but “WE” can at least do our share while it is our turn to breathe on our great Planet Earth! I wish you all a safe and memorable journey! My thoughts are with you! From Curacao, with love, Barbara! (Take care, honey!) : )))

  2. As primary member of a fairly large and upcoming foundation, i myself envy you for being able to make this journey. But i don’t think they could have picked a better person to go (yes, i am aware more then one person from this island is going, but you know what i mean). You’re dedicated and I’m sure you’ll make us all proud. So go out there and have fun, learn something even and come back with a bunch of stories. We’ll be waiting. Salutations kiddo, Joey

  3. Dear JC, I would like to wish you a safe journey! and have lots of fun. Don’t worry about anything . You’re really lucky. I hope when you come back you will beable to tell us everything you learnt. Yes it is a big task but i know you will beable to accomplish it. And even though you are from a small island in the Carribean there is nothing that can stop you from reaching your dreams and goals. Just take one step at a time!! Wishing you all the luck from Curacao, Preeti.
