And again I´m the last one sitting in front of the computer writing what I´m not able to articulate. You need to be an author, a poet,… or you need to see it yourself.

Orcas, a cracking iceberg, a perfect training session on a glaciar, sitting in the middle of a penguins, watching birds fly over the sea and seals sleeping in the sun – and everything on one day! For the full story i´ld recommend Meghan´s blog!

Liebe Freunde! Ich bin echt sprachlos und froh wenn ich bald zurueck bin. Sonst koennte ich nicht dafuer garantierten, dass ich mein zukuenftiges Leben der Rettung unseres Planeten widme, mich veganisch ernaehre und mein Hab und Gut verkaufe Nur noch 2 Tage und dann werden wir uns wieder auf den Heimweg begeben: 2 Tage Drake´s Passage, 1 Nacht in Buenos Aires, London, Wien. Ich kann jetzt nicht sagen, dass mich unbedingt darauf freue. Aber etwas Zeit vergeht noch bis dahin. Ich hoffe euch dann persoenlich meine Eindruecke nur annaehernd naeher bringen zu koennen.

It s 11pm and I think I m the last blogger for today. Robert came to visit us followed by an interesting presentation about greenhouse gases. It’s a shame that we had to move (with the ship) away from the save place in front of eBase. They say it’s going to be a windy night and we can feel it already. Poor those, suffering from sea-sickness. Can’t await tomorrow. It will be long and cold day. Further news on my blog www.eugen-schmidt.at 

Eugen’s initial thoughts on climate change…

It hasn’t impacted me personally now, but seeing burning parts of the rainforest in Venezuela or Austrian glaciers melting away shows that there’s an urgent need to think about the way we treat our environment.
